Benefits

There are many benefits associated with the regular practice of a quality Martial Art. Here are just a few.

Confidence

The first change that most students notice after starting in ISK Tang Soo Do is a complete change in confidence. In our Tang Soo Do classes we put you, our student first, and as a result you will see a dramatic increase in confidence almost immediately. We teach in a very friendly pro-active atmosphere where everyone is treated equally and no one gets left behind. We work as a team.

Fitness

With ISK Tang Soo Do a fit and healthy body and mind are one of the primary aims of training. We also realise that when you start Tang Soo Do you may not be able to complete some of the more 'intense' training drills. That’s fine. In our classes everyone works to their own pace and you will gradually see the physical improvements brought about by regular Tang Soo Do practice. In recent seminars and tournaments it has been noted that ISK Tang Soo Do has attended with the fittest and strongest students, to the extent that we have been asked by many to visit their Martial Arts schools to teach our secrets. We are very proud of this fact.

Self Defence

As part of your ISK Tang Soo Do training you will learn a number of syllabus set self defence techniques ranging from single grab attacks, double grabs, holds from the rear and straight punch attacks. In addition to these we also teach non-syllabus self defence such as ground holds, Takedowns and weapon defence. We leave no situation unaccounted for.

Flexibility

Every lesson starts with a warm up and stretch. We take our stretching very seriously and we are constantly researching new and improved methods of stretching for the safety of our students. As a ‘Dynamic’ Martial Art we aim at ISK Tang Soo Do to maximise your flexibility range but realise that not everyone will be gifted in this area. We are not worried about if you can kick to head height or only at knee height – it’s good technique that counts! And that’s what we concentrate on.

Behaviour

Tang Soo Do is a very Traditional Martial Art and we instil the aspects that you would associate with the Traditional Martial Arts into the younger students as soon as they start training. This, coupled with our SFL program means better school performance, good behaviour in class and of course a young, fit and healthy student!
